Battery Bank Test Solutions by DV Power
Portable Electronic DC Load: BLU Series
DV Power presents the BLU Series, a range of portable electronic DC loads delivering 16KW to 28KW of power. With an input voltage range of 5.25V to 500V and a maximum current absorption of 200A (120A for 125 VDC substation banks), these units stand out as the most powerful and lightweight DC loads available. The BLU Series can achieve even higher currents by integrating smart slave units, BXL. Weighing under 32lbs or 42lbs, these models are both powerful and highly portable. The DV Win software controls the units and archives results for initial bank acceptance and aging comparison.
- Battery Bank Input Voltage Range: 5.25V to 500V
- Maximum Current Absorption: 200A (120A for 125 VDC substation banks)
- Expandable Current: Additional current with smart slave units BXL
- Weight: Under 32lbs or 42lbs
- Control and Monitoring: DV Win software
For more details, refer to the BLU200A brochure or the BLU360V brochure, which covers models with 10V to 500VDC inputs.
New C Series BLU
The new C Series BLU by DV Power is set to revolutionize DC
load testing. This series can handle up to 800VDC input and features a more
ergonomic viewing angle, along with the ability to discharge down to 0V for
safe battery recycling. The C Series supports up to 42KW and weighs up to
46lbs. It boasts the highest power density on the market and includes a
built-in controller for BVS scanner modules, enabling cell-by-cell data viewing
on the new integral color display.
- Input Voltage Range: 5.25V to 800VDC
- Maximum Power: Up to 42KW
- Weight: Up to 46lbs
- Ergonomic Design: Improved viewing angle
- Discharge Capability: Down to 0V for safe battery recycling
- Built-in Controller: For BVS scanner modules with integral color display

Cell-by-Cell Voltage Scanner: BVS Series
DV Power's BVS Series is
designed for use with the DV Power load units or other market loads. It
supports up to 127 cells and uses CAT data cables between modules. The BVS
connects short fused wires with clips to battery cell terminals, providing
comprehensive monitoring during discharge tests via PC software. This setup
allows for easy identification of the weakest cells through histogram graphs
during and after discharge. The BVS can also stop the test when a cell reaches
a threshold voltage. It measures cell resistance and inter-cell resistance when
operated with the BLU.
- Maximum Cell Capacity: 127 cells
- Monitoring: PC software with histogram graphs
- Test Modes: Stop test at threshold voltage
- Resistance Measurement: Cell and inter-cell resistance with BLU
For more details, view the BVS brochure.
Testing Note:
The combination of the BLU DC Load and BVS scanner provides
a robust load capacity test system, meeting NERC requirements and offering
exceptional troubleshooting capabilities. It is recommended to disconnect the
battery bank from its usual application for several hours and recharge it
before resuming typical operations. A substitute bank or a dual bank connection
may be utilized during testing. NEW quad cell scanner which reduces cost by over 33% and simplifies scanning.
Battery Voltage Recorder: BVR Series
DV Power’s BVR Series offers a straightforward solution for reading and recording cell voltages in a battery bank. It supports both single scans and multiple scans during a discharge test, making it a versatile tool for comprehensive battery monitoring.
- Functionality: Single and multiple scan modes
- Application: Cell voltage reading and recording

Battery Ohmic Tester: IBAR Series
DV Power’s IBAR Series, a handheld unit, measures resistance values of each cell, aligning with NERC reporting standards. It also measures cell voltage and inter-cell voltages, suitable for various battery types including flooded lead-acid, VRLA, Ni-Cd, or Li-Ion. The IBAR offers a significant price advantage, keeping the kit cost under $2.5K.
- Functionality: Resistance, cell voltage, inter-cell voltage measurement
- Battery Types: Flooded lead-acid, VRLA, Ni-Cd, Li-Ion
- Cost: Under $2.5K
For detailed specifications, view the IBAR brochure.
